Meet the Team

Jess and Amber are the partners in crime behind Nobody's Fool. They met in 2020 when they both worked at the Donmar Warehouse.

Amber Boothe

Amber Boothe is the primary creative writer and designer at Nobody's Fool. She is comfortable taking risks, putting ideas on paper, and receiving ruthless feedback.

Jess Hennessy

Jess Hennessy (Resident Spreadsheet Connoisseur) has a background in events, partnerships and relationship management, marketing and administration. As such, she oversees basically everything else, from cash flow forecasts to competitor research. She also develops and edits Amber's brilliant work.

Our Story

During lockdown, Jess sought ways to bring her friends together when we were all forced to be apart. She started hosting a hugely successful monthly virtual murder mystery party. Over time, Jess grew stifled by the current murder mystery party offerings on the market. Often the mysteries were painfully complicated to host but easy to solve. They were outdated, uninclusive, and varied hugely in quality.

Meanwhile, Amber's passion for the business grew from her undying love for crime, thriller and horror stories. From being a regular attendee at Jess's murder mystery parties to consuming the entire crime section at her local library, Amber is in her element when there's a mystery afoot. This business is a natural extension of her goal to become a professional crime writer. Having completed the first draft of her mystery novel that went on to win the Owned Voices 2022 Award, Amber is now an agented author hoping to go on submission with her debut novel in 2023.
